Our History
From craftsmanship to industrial manufacturing
MARCH Srl traces its origins back to the 1950s, when saddler Egidio March produced saddles, straps, and convertible tops for vehicles in military bases across Trentino-South Tyrol. in 1973, MARCH diversified its production to include bags, backpacks, and suitcases.
Thanks to contracts with LANCIA in the following years, MARCH doubled both its workforce and production space to meet rising demand for convertible tops, storage bags, and protective tarpaulins for the military sector.
Growth and specialization
In the 1990s, MARCH built a 1,800 m² production facility in Bolzano, equipped with state-of-the-art technologies. Alongside international clients such as IVECO, the company developed the fabric top for the legendary Fiat Barchetta – a key milestone in MARCH’s entry into series production of soft tops.
Further projects followed for leading automotive suppliers working with Audi, BMW, Ford, Peugeot, and Renault.
As winter tourism grew in Northern Italy, MARCH expanded into padded covers, protection padding for snow cannons and ski lift seat cushions.
Expansion into global markets
A new chapter began in 2004, when Andreas March, son of the founder, led the doubling of MARCH’s production site in Bolzano. Since then, the company has grown into a trusted manufacturing partner for demanding sectors including automotive, military protection, EMC solutions, sport & outdoor, agriculture, and industrial equipment.
Today, modern machinery and expert craftsmanship allow MARCH to deliver flexible solutions – from small quantities to large-scale production – driven by innovation, efficiency, and excellence.
Sustainability and responsibility
In addition to technological progress, sustainability plays a central role. A large photovoltaic system allows production to run entirely on renewable energy during the summer months. MARCH sources raw materials from European suppliers that meet the strictest quality requirements. This not only ensures short supply chains but also environmentally conscious, CO₂-reduced production.
